1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using quaer.ai (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Definitions
- "Service" means the quaer.ai platform, including the web application, API, MCP server, and all related features.
- "User" means any individual or entity who accesses or uses the Service.
- "Content" means case law, statutes, regulations, citations, and other legal data provided through the Service.
- "API Key" means a unique authentication credential issued to a User for programmatic access.
- "Plan" means the subscription tier selected by the User (Free Trial, Professional, or BYOK).
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Accounts & API Keys
4.1 Registration
You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys.
4.2 API Keys
API keys are issued per User and must not be shared, sold, or transferred. You are responsible for all activity conducted using your API key. Report compromised keys immediately via the API Portal.
4.3 BYOK Keys
If you use the BYOK Plan, you may provide your own LLM API key (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic). Your key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM encryption and is never stored in plaintext or included in logs. You are responsible for all costs associated with your own LLM provider.
5. Subscription Plans and Billing
| Plan | Price | Daily Query Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Free Trial | $0 | 20 queries/day (30-day trial) |
| Professional | $99/month | 500 queries/day |
| BYOK | $49/month | 1,000 queries/day |
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial billing periods.
Queries are counted per calendar day (midnight UTC). API and MCP requests share the same daily quota. Rate limits are enforced per User, not per API key.
