API License Agreement

1. Grant of License
quaer.ai grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the quaer.ai REST API and MCP server subject to your subscription Plan and these terms.
2. API Keys
- Keys are issued per User through the API Portal
- Keys are hashed with SHA-256 — quaer.ai cannot recover lost keys
- Report compromised keys immediately. Revoked keys cannot be reinstated.

3. Rate Limits

Rate limits are enforced per User across all API keys and MCP connections combined.

4. Permitted Use
- Build applications that search and retrieve legal data
- Integrate quaer.ai into AI tools via MCP (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf)
- Create internal tools for your law firm or organization
- Develop legal research workflows
- Academic and educational projects
5. Prohibited Use
No Resale
You may NOT resell API access, create a competing service, offer quaer.ai data through your own API, or white-label quaer.ai without written permission.
No Bulk Extraction
You may NOT download more data than needed for real-time queries, create persistent copies of the database, cache results for more than 24 hours, or build a local search index.
No AI Training
You may NOT use quaer.ai Content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine learning models outside the quaer.ai Service.
No Circumvention
You may NOT use multiple accounts to bypass rate limits, rotate IPs to evade restrictions, or modify headers to impersonate other users.
6. Attribution
If you display quaer.ai Content in user-facing applications, include: Data provided by quaer.ai
7. Availability
We target 99.5% monthly uptime. This is a goal, not a guarantee. No SLA except for enterprise contracts.
8. Termination
Cancel anytime. We may terminate access immediately for rate limit abuse, prohibited use, non-payment, or fraud.
